Lions Club of Haveri to give prominence to the education has established Haveri Lions Education Society, Haveri in the year 1977 and has taken various steps and risk to start the school beginning with the kids. and ultimately it was started in the year June - 1978.
Lions English Medium School is a reputed institution with a good name and fame all over. Established in the year 1978 with a staff of just 2 teachers Mrs. Matilda Selvan and Mrs. Mary Pinto under the dedicated Chairmanship of Late Lion V. B. Kurubgondshettar and Lion Dr. S. V. Hordi (Vice Chairman) and other Lion Members. Nobody expected that this seed sown with a meager strength of just 30 students and 2 teachers would grow up to such a Pinnacle stage of 1200 strength with a staff of 80 plus members.
Let us see the path of the growth: Gradually the classes were increased and the sections in each standard was also improved. Now we have 3 sections in each standard right from Nursery to 10th. The rapidity of the improvement is because of the selection of the best experienced teachers by the Management. Our school has given to the Society many outstanding Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, Sportsmen in different fields who are not only working within the Nation but also abroad. Every year our school is contributing a new asset to the Society in Fine art, art, architecture, culture, sports and different other activities. This contribution of our school in all the fields is increasing day by day and year by year.
When we consider the infrastructure, earlier the school was started in just 3 rooms with minimum furniture on the rental basis. Gradually the seeds acquired the flowers of the Primary and High school education then acquired the fruits of the best results. Throughout the path we had many experienced teachers, who struggled for the improvement and upliftment of the school. After beginning with the rental rooms now five acres of land is owned by The Haveri Lions Education Society, Haveri where two buildings of three floors with sophisticated science laboratory, computer laboratory, library (with more than 5000 books) in all the subjects is an attractive scene in the outskirts of the city. To add flavor to the glory, the ATL lab with all necessary apparatus and chemicals is sprouting. To attract the children the best playground for school students and play materials for the kindergarten is a heart appealing infrastructure. Separate washroom facilities for boys & girls and purified drinking water facilities is also provided under the scientific process.
To enhance the teaching, we have upgraded the school using the smart boards in each classroom beginning from the Nursery to 10th standard with best scholastic teaching faculties.
One may find a good cooperation and coordination among the Office Bearers, the staff and the Management which is a true homely environment where the children are taken a great care and make them feel at home and motherly affection towards kids entrusted to us.
The academic and cultural achievements in State level with ranks in State and National level achievements of Sports are the major landmarks of our institution. Further the Institution is dreaming to reach the sky level.
